Lorcana cards: live auctions and direct sale

Disney Lorcana is a collectible card game published by Ravensburger and launched in 2023. It features characters from the Disney universes: each card shows a character, an action or an item, and belongs to one of the game's six inks. Expansions follow one another at a steady pace, each bringing new cards and new artwork.

As in many card games, rarity structures the market: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, then Enchanted cards, which are the rarest in an expansion and show a character with an alternate illustration. Foil versions also exist for many cards. Before bidding, check the expansion, the card number, its rarity and its finish (standard or foil): the same character often appears in several versions.

The game is distributed in several languages, including English and French. A card's value can vary from one language to another: the language should appear in the listing, and can be checked on the card itself. As the game is recent, products are still fairly easy to identify, but pay attention to versions and reproductions, especially on sought-after cards.

The sealed format (boosters, displays, gift sets) is a good candidate for live: the seller opens a product on camera and you see the pull as it happens. The opening stays random, whereas a direct purchase lets you pick the exact card you want. For valuable cards, ask for sharp photos or a video showing the corners, the edges and the surface. Also ask to see the back of the card, where scratches and marks are often easier to spot.
