Frequently asked questions about Yu-Gi-Oh!

Everything you need to know before buying or selling yu-gi-oh! on Blisterr.

  • How do I tell a real Yu-Gi-Oh! card from a counterfeit?
Compare the card with a genuine copy from the same set: sharpness of the print, font, thickness, surface grain and the small Konami hologram on the front, at the bottom of the card. Ghost Rares and Secret Rares have complex holographic effects: ask the seller for a video in natural light before bidding.
  • What is a 1st Edition?
The "1st Edition" label is printed on the first print run of a set; later runs are called "Unlimited". The two versions of the same card generally do not have the same value: check the label, the set code and the language in the description or in the video before bidding.
  • Which sales format should I choose for Yu-Gi-Oh! cards?
For common cards, instant buy at a fixed price is the simplest. For sought-after rarities, the classic or silent auction lets buyers set the price. For cards where the holographic effect matters, a live or a Peek lets you see the card in motion before buying.
  • What are the fees for buying a Yu-Gi-Oh! card on Blisterr?
You pay the item price, the buyer protection fee (6.9% of the item price, shipping excluded, + €0.49 once per order with the same seller) and delivery. The seller pays no commission. Details are in the FAQ.
  • Are my Japanese or Asian cards allowed in tournaments?
OCG cards (Japanese or Asian) are generally not allowed in official European tournaments, which use TCG cards. They remain highly collectible. Ask the organiser before playing with a card from another region.

About Yu-Gi-Oh! on Blisterr

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a card game created by Konami and inspired by Kazuki Takahashi's manga. Released in Japan in 1999, it then spread around the world. Today it still brings together two communities: tournament players and collectors, who look for older cards as well as recent rarities.

The game comes in many rarity levels: Rare, Super Rare, Ultra Rare, Secret Rare, then more special finishes such as Ghost Rares or Starlight Rares. The same monster can exist in several rarities, editions and languages. The card code, printed under the artwork, shows the expansion, the language and the number: it is the best way to identify precisely the card you are buying.

The 1st Edition mention appears on the first print run of an expansion, while later print runs are called Unlimited. The two versions of the same card are generally not worth the same, so check the mention, the code and the language in the description or in the video before bidding. OCG cards (Japanese or Asian) are highly collected, but are usually not allowed in official European tournaments, which use TCG cards.

To spot a counterfeit, compare the card with a genuine copy from the same expansion: print sharpness, font, thickness, surface grain and the small Konami hologram on the front of the card, near the bottom. The holographic effects of Ghost Rares and Secret Rares are hard to photograph, so a video in natural light helps a lot.

On Blisterr, you can buy with instant buy, a classic or silent auction, a Drop, or join a giveaway, in a video Peek or during a live. Every seller application is reviewed manually by our team, and the 30-day buyer protection covers an item that never arrives, does not match its description or is a proven counterfeit. Graded cards, whose grade is certified by a third-party company, remain the safest choice for valuable pieces.
