The classic auction: open bidding

Open bidding, highest bidder wins

The reference format: a seller sets a starting price, buyers outbid in turn, and the highest bidder wins the lot at the end of the countdown. Simple and transparent.

How the classic auction works

Blisterr's open format: everyone sees the best bid in real time.

  1. The seller launches the auction

An approved seller publishes their item with a starting price and a duration: in a Peek, a duration in days (5 by default); in a Live, a countdown per lot.

  2. You place your bid

Enter your amount: it must exceed the best bid by at least the minimum increment (€1 up to €99, then €3 from €100). You can also set an automatic bid up to a maximum you choose.

  3. You follow or outbid

If someone outbids you, you get a notification. You can keep bidding as long as the auction has not ended.

  4. The highest bidder wins the lot

When the countdown ends, the highest bidder wins. Payment is due within 4 days (in a live, payment is automatic), then the parcel is tracked until delivery.

Why pick the classic auction

Full transparency

Every bid is visible. You know exactly where you stand against other buyers, no grey zone.

A price set by bidders

Buyers decide what the item is worth: the price rises as long as bids keep coming.

Controlled adrenaline

You see the time left and the best bid. You decide when and by how much to outbid, or you set an automatic bid.

For rare pieces

The reference format for graded cards, limited figurines and other pieces whose value depends on demand.

Frequently asked questions about the classic auction

  • What happens when I win the auction?
You must pay within 4 days (in a live, payment is triggered automatically at the end of the sale). After that, the item is put back on sale and a strike is added to your account. You receive an email confirmation, then tracking as soon as the parcel ships.
  • Can I withdraw my bid?
No. A bid is firm and irrevocable: if you are the highest bidder at the end, you commit to buying the item. Only an obvious technical error on the platform’s side can justify a cancellation: contact support in that case.
  • What happens with last-second bids?
In a Live, a bid placed when less than 15 seconds remain brings the countdown back to 15 seconds, within a limit of one hour per lot; the seller can turn this option off. Peek auctions end at the displayed time, with no extension.
  • How much does selling at auction cost?
Putting an item up for auction is free and Blisterr charges no commission: you receive the final sale price. Only withdrawal fees may apply (details in the FAQ).

Blisterr auctions are an online auction brokerage service, which is not a public auction sale (article L.321-3 of the French Commercial Code).
